For this project, our team at Sunno Construction partnered with a homeowner in Molalla, Oregon, who also operates a dog training business on their multi-acre property. Their goal was twofold: they needed a secure, durable fence to safely contain their dogs, while also wanting a design that would enhance the beauty of their property and make a strong first impression for clients arriving at the facility.
To meet these needs, we designed and built a custom board-on-board cedar fence using pre-stained, clear cedar 5/8-inch fence boards. This style not only offers excellent privacy and strength but also provides a refined, finished look that elevates the entire property. We combined the cedar boards with pressure-treated rails mounted on PostMaster steel posts, ensuring both longevity and structural integrity. To complete the design, we added a 2×6 rough-cut cedar top rail, stained to match the fencing for a seamless, high-end appearance.
Because functionality was just as important as aesthetics, our client requested four heavy-duty custom gates to accommodate daily use in the dog training facility. We delivered gates that are as sturdy as they are stylish: each one was crafted with a custom welded steel frame, mounted on Highlander powder-coated steel gate posts (4×4), and fitted with premium heavy-duty hinges for smooth operation and long-lasting durability.
The finished result is a fence that blends strength, privacy, and natural beauty. Built from clear cedar, it offers timeless curb appeal, while the board-on-board design ensures maximum coverage and durability — perfect for both residential and business use.
